MeitY, Intel India to mobilise citizens on ethical and inclusive AI use ahead of India AI Impact Summit 2026

New Delhi: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), under the IndiaAI Mission and in collaboration with Intel India, will launch a nationwide digital campaign on February 16–17 aimed at promoting ethical, inclusive and responsible use of artificial intelligence.

The initiative, titled “Most pledges received for an AI Responsibility campaign in 24 hours,” will attempt an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the highest number of pledges recorded within a 24-hour period. The campaign begins at 8:00 AM IST on February 16.

The pledge drive seeks to mobilise citizens across the country to commit to responsible AI practices, reinforcing India’s push towards building a trustworthy and human-centric AI ecosystem.

Interactive pledge platform

The digital pledge platform will be accessible at aipledge.indiaai.gov.in and is designed as an interactive awareness experience. Participants will engage with short scenario-based questions focused on responsible AI behaviour before submitting a formal pledge.

Upon completion, participants will receive a digital honorary badge issued jointly by IndiaAI and Intel India, along with access to curated government-led AI learning pathways.

The campaign has been structured for wide accessibility. It does not require microphone or camera access, and there are no qualifying marks or eligibility barriers, ensuring ease of participation across regions and demographics.

How to participate

Participants can join the campaign by:

Visiting the official pledge portal
Completing a simple registration process
Verifying participation via OTP using email ID or phone number
Responding to short scenario-based awareness questions
Submitting the formal AI Responsibility Pledge

The initiative encourages participation from students, educators, parents, government officials, public sector representatives, industry professionals, startups and citizens from diverse backgrounds.

With a strong emphasis on youth engagement, the campaign aims to foster awareness around responsible AI use, data privacy, accountability and combating misinformation.

Linked to India AI Impact Summit 2026

The AI Responsibility Pledge campaign forms a key citizen-engagement pillar of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled from February 16–20 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The summit will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is expected to bring together heads of state, global leaders, policymakers, industry experts, researchers, startups, academia and civil society. Discussions will centre around leveraging AI for inclusive and development-oriented outcomes under the guiding pillars of People, Planet and Progress.

Through nationwide mobilisation and ecosystem collaboration, India aims to set a global benchmark in responsible AI engagement while strengthening public trust in emerging technologies.
