CTIL, IIFT Back International Moot Court on WTO Law and Trade Issues

New Delhi: The Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), under the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), supported the 24th edition of the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition (West and South Asia Regional Round) as a platinum sponsor.
The event was organised by the Research & Advisory Centre for International Economic Law (RACIEL) at National Law University, Jodhpur, from March 17 to 20.
Focus on WTO Law and Trade Disputes
The four-day competition brought together law students from leading universities in India and abroad.
Participants argued cases on international trade law and WTO dispute settlement. The event helped students build legal skills and understand current trade issues.
CTIL Experts Join as Judges
Research staff from CTIL served as judges across rounds, including preliminaries, semi-finals and the final.
They evaluated participants along with experts from academia and legal practice. The judging process focused on both legal depth and practical insight.
Platform for Policy and Academic Engagement
CTIL also took part in the sponsors’ fair. It presented its work in trade and investment law, including research, training and policy support programmes.
The event included oral arguments, networking sessions and discussions. It concluded with the final round and closing ceremony.
Strengthening Trade Law Capacity
The competition highlighted the role of academic and policy institutions in building expertise in international economic law.
CTIL said its continued engagement reflects its focus on strengthening legal capacity and promoting informed policy debate in trade law.
