The conference featured the release of a flyer detailing calibration and testing activities of CSIR-NPL’s Physico-Mechanical Metrology Division.
New Delhi, August 15: The CSIR–National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL) organised a two-day national conference, MAPIKI 2025, on August 11–12 under the theme “Measurements for All Times, for All People.” The event aimed to bring together stakeholders from across the metrology sector to discuss innovations, challenges, and the development of India’s metrological traceability chain to bolster economic and social progress.
The conference featured the release of a flyer detailing calibration and testing activities of CSIR-NPL’s Physico-Mechanical Metrology Division. Chief Guest Dr Nagahanumaiah, Director of the Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI), Bengaluru, and Guest of Honour Dr SD Attri, Member (Technical) of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), were present at the release.
Around 150 participants, including scientists, technical officers, research scholars, and industry representatives, attended the event, delivering lectures on diverse metrology topics. A poster session saw 44 entries, with the best posters recognised through awards. The conference also witnessed the transfer of CSIR-NPL technology on recycling metal/polymer laminate-based MLPs for material recovery to industry.
In his valedictory address, CSIR-NPL Director Prof. Venugopal Achanta underscored the vital role of metrology in socio-economic development, emphasising the need for indigenous measurement standards to strengthen India’s position in the global measurement ecosystem.
