Multi-platform initiative aims to boost financial vigilance and investor self-reliance

Mumbai, October 10: The CDSL Investor Protection Fund (CDSL IPF) has launched a nationwide investor awareness initiative titled ‘Sawaal Karo, Scams Ko Slam Karo’ to mark World Investor Week 2025 (WIW), observed under the aegis of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).

The campaign, rolled out from October 6–12, 2025, seeks to encourage investors to question, verify, and make informed financial decisions before investing. It underscores a simple but powerful message — that awareness is the best defence against scams and frauds.

As part of the initiative, CDSL IPF unveiled two digital awareness films and a striking 20,000-square-foot rangoli artwork by artist Shikha Sharma, visually anchoring the campaign’s core message. To widen its reach, the campaign was also amplified through Paytm sound boxes and public announcements at railway stations, cautioning citizens against fraudulent schemes.

“Through our ‘Sawaal Karo, Scams Ko Slam Karo’ campaign, we aim to inspire investors to question, verify, and invest wisely,” said Sudhish Pillai, Head, CDSL IPF Secretariat. “Before you click, share, or invest—pause and verify. Awareness is the first step toward becoming truly Atmanirbhar investors.”

The campaign reiterates four key principles: Question every opportunity, Verify before investing, Stay alert to red flags, and Build financial self-reliance.

During FY 2024–25, CDSL IPF conducted 2,526 Investor Awareness Programs across 34 states and union territories, reaching over 1.47 lakh participants in 15 languages.
