Hyderabad, December 13: Credicon Mavericks were crowned champions of the inaugural Hyderabad Pickleball League after edging past All Stars 4–3 in a thrilling final that went down to a decisive seventh-set tie-breaker at The League, Financial District.

The championship clash delivered high-intensity action, with both teams trading blows before the Mavericks held their nerve in the final moments to secure the first-ever HPL title. Nearly 2,000 pickleball fans packed the venue, underlining the rapid rise of the league as Hyderabad’s newest sporting draw.

For their title-winning performance, Credicon Mavericks walked away with a cash prize of ₹6 lakh, while runners-up All Stars earned ₹3 lakh after an impressive campaign throughout the season.

The finale also doubled as a celebration, blending sport and entertainment. A half-time performance by singer Lucky Ali and his band transformed the championship night into a festival-like experience, drawing loud cheers and adding to the electric atmosphere.

“This finale captured everything the Hyderabad Pickleball League stands for — intensity, community and entertainment,” said Yashwanth Biyyala, co-founder, Centre Court Sport & Entertainment and the Hyderabad Pickleball League. “Watching the match go down to a tie-breaker in front of nearly 2,000 passionate fans was truly special. Credicon Mavericks becoming our first champions marks the beginning of a strong sporting legacy for pickleball in Hyderabad.”

The league also recognised standout individual performances. Vijay Tej of Teramor Titans was named Rising Star (Male), while Veda from All Stars received the Rising Star (Female) award. Nikhil of Teramor Titans was honoured as Best Male Player, and Niharika from The Raptors was named Best Female Player. The Most Valuable Player award went to Sameer Varma of All Stars for his consistent impact across the season.

“Being recognised as MVP in the inaugural season of HPL is extremely special,” Sameer Varma said. “This league has given players a professional platform to compete at a high level while connecting with fans and the community. The energy at the finals and the support for pickleball make HPL a truly unique experience.”

With packed stands, competitive matches and a finale that brought together sport, music and community, the first season of the Hyderabad Pickleball League has set a strong benchmark for the future growth of pickleball in the city and beyond.
