New Delhi, October 7: A Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on “Panchakarma and Basic Principles of Ayurveda” began today at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi. The week-long programme, running until October 11, is sponsored by the Ministry of Ayush and coordinated by the Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV).

The CME has been jointly organised by AIIA’s Departments of Panchakarma and Samhita Siddhanta to promote academic excellence and clinical expertise among Ayurveda practitioners and postgraduate scholars.

The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Dr Vandana Siroha, Director, Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, who attended as Chief Guest. In her address, Dr Siroha stressed the importance of continuous professional learning and called for greater integration of traditional Ayurvedic wisdom with modern research methodologies to strengthen holistic healthcare delivery.

Eminent Ayurveda experts, including Dr Mahesh Vyas, Dean (Academics), AIIA; Dr MM Rao, Medical Superintendent, AIIA; and Prof. SH Acharya, delivered sessions on the conceptual and clinical aspects of Panchakarma and the foundational principles of Ayurveda.

The CME includes interactive discussions, live demonstrations, and practical sessions based on classical Ayurvedic texts, providing participants with a comprehensive, experiential learning experience.

The initiative is part of the Ministry of Ayush’s continued efforts to enhance capacity building, promote evidence-based practice, and encourage professional development in the Ayurveda sector. It also reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening India’s traditional systems of medicine through advanced training and academic collaboration.
