1522 Mandis Linked with e-NAM; Over ₹4.39 Lakh Crore in Agricultural Commodities Traded

New Delhi, July 29: The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has reported a major milestone in digital agricultural marketing with 1,522 mandis now integrated into the National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) platform. As of June 30, 2025, e-NAM has facilitated trade amounting to ₹4,39,941 crore in agricultural commodities across the country, according to a written reply in the Lok Sabha by Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ramnath Thakur on Tuesday.
The cumulative trade includes 12.03 crore metric tonnes of agri-commodities and 49.15 crore units of countable items like coconut, lemon, bamboo, betel leaf, and sweet corn. Rajasthan led the states with a trade value of ₹1.19 lakh crore, followed by Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana.
To promote participation by small and marginal farmers, the government has implemented several initiatives such as on-site training at mandis, mobile app access, and digital tutorial content on social media. Over 1.79 crore farmers and 4,518 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) have registered on e-NAM. Maharashtra alone has over 12.4 lakh registered farmers and 354 FPOs, with notable activity in Hingoli district where 10,437 farmers have actively traded.
The platform presently supports online auctioning for 238 commodities, with new items being added based on state requests. A toll-free helpline (18002700224) has also been set up to resolve grievances.
The government highlighted inter-state trade support through liberalized licensing, enabling cross-mandi bidding. Inter-state trade in the last three years alone accounted for transactions worth over ₹67,297 crore.
Agriculture marketing remains a state subject, but the Centre continues to work with states to liberalize trading and improve digital infrastructure, reinforcing its goal of inclusive and transparent agri-market reforms through e-NAM.
