Hyderabad, August 19: Re Sustainability Limited (ReSL), Asia’s leading provider of circular economy solutions, on Tuesday announced the launch of two major green initiatives to promote eco-friendly living and waste management this festive season. The company unveiled the 18th edition of its award-winning Green Ganesha campaign in partnership with 92.7 BIG FM, alongside the introduction of Aakri – Powered by Re Sustainability, an app-based waste collection platform.

Green Ganesha: Sustainable Celebrations

The Green Ganesha 2025 campaign aims to counter the environmental damage caused by plaster of Paris (POP) idols that release harmful chemicals into water bodies. This year, ReSL will distribute 15,000 eco-friendly clay Ganesha idols embedded with seeds and organic fertilizer, enabling households to immerse idols at home in flowerpots. Last year, over 10,000 such idols were distributed nationwide.

Actor Tanikella Barani lent his support to the campaign at the launch event held at My Home Bhooja in Hyderabad, where residents also participated in the eco-conscious celebrations. BIG FM RJs will drive community engagement through interactive activities and idol distribution until September 2.

Aakri: Waste Management Made Simple

ReSL also introduced Aakri, a smart waste collection app designed for households and institutions. The platform offers doorstep pickup of sanitary waste, diapers, recyclables, and domestic hazardous waste, with collected materials processed at ReSL’s recovery and recycling facilities.

Currently serving over 1 lakh users in southern India, Aakri is poised to expand nationwide. The platform integrates advanced recycling, incineration, and material recovery systems, ensuring safe, hygienic, and environmentally compliant processing.

“Our vision is to empower every citizen to become a custodian of the environment,” said Masood Mallick, Managing Director & CEO of Re Sustainability. “Through Green Ganesha, we provide a tradition-friendly yet eco-conscious option, and with Aakri, we are simplifying responsible waste management for every household.”

Driving Everyday Sustainability

Residents at the event endorsed the twin initiatives as practical steps toward responsible celebration and everyday waste management. ReSL, backed by KKR, operates across 100+ sites in India and overseas with a workforce of more than 22,000, positioning itself as a leader in advancing the circular economy.
