India to Co-Host 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine in December 2025

New Delhi, September 26: The Ministry of Ayush on Thursday signed an agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO) to co-host the 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine in New Delhi from December 17 to 19, 2025. Themed “Restoring balance for people and planet: The science and practice of well-being”, the summit will spotlight the growing role of traditional medicine in global health and sustainable development.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Union Minister of State for Ayush (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav and senior ministry officials during the 2nd Summit Planning Group Meeting, which reviewed preparations and activities for the event.

The Summit will bring together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from around the world to deliberate on how traditional medicine can complement modern healthcare systems, promote preventive care, and support climate-friendly health solutions.

Through this collaboration with WHO, the Ministry of Ayush reaffirmed India’s commitment to advancing evidence-based traditional medicine practices that strengthen human and planetary well-being.
