Godrej Properties Tops Global ESG Ranking for Residential Developers in GRESB 2025
The company secured its highest-ever score of 100 points in the 2025 assessment, marking a milestone in its sustainability journey.
Mumbai, October 3: Godrej Properties Limited (GPL) has been ranked the world’s number one residential developer for its environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices by the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB). The company secured its highest-ever score of 100 points in the 2025 assessment, marking a milestone in its sustainability journey.
GRESB benchmarks ESG performance of real estate firms worldwide, recognising participants that lead in driving sustainability standards across the industry. Godrej Properties has been participating in the benchmark since 2013, with its ESG disclosures aligned to Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) requirements and externally assured for transparency and integrity.
Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Chairperson of Godrej Properties, said the recognition underscored the company’s commitment to sustainable development. “We believe that embracing sustainable practices is not only our responsibility but essential to building a better future. We remain fully committed to continuously raising our ESG standards and driving positive change for our communities and the planet,” he said.
The real estate developer has long positioned itself as a sustainability leader. Since 2010, it has committed to ensuring all its projects are third-party certified green buildings. It was also among the founding partners of the Sustainable Housing Leadership Consortium (SHLC), which promotes green practices across India’s real estate sector. GPL has consistently retained its status as India’s largest developer by residential sales value and has earned over 400 awards, including Developer of the Year at the GRI India Awards 2024.
