Indian Navy opens new recruitment centre at Karwar to strengthen presence on western seaboard

New Delhi, November 12: The Indian Navy has established a new recruitment centre at INS Kadamba, Karwar, under the Flag Officer Commanding Karnataka Naval Area, marking a key step toward strengthening the Navy’s recruitment network on the western seaboard. With this addition, INS Kadamba becomes the tenth recruitment establishment across India.
The maiden Stage-2 recruitment for the 01/2026 Agniveer batch is being conducted from November 10 to 15, 2025. The event saw participation from officials representing the Personnel Branch and Naval Headquarters in New Delhi, as well as the Western Naval Command in Mumbai.
Strengthening regional connect
Comprehensive arrangements — including logistics, medical facilities, and administrative coordination — have been put in place to ensure smooth conduct of the recruitment drive. The Navy has also worked closely with the local administration to facilitate the event’s safe and efficient execution.
The establishment of the new centre marks a strategic milestone for the Navy’s western operations, expanding its outreach among youth in Karnataka, southern Maharashtra, and Goa, and offering greater opportunities to serve the nation.
