The Delhi Premier League (DPL) T20 auction took a major stride this season, with 520 players going under the hammer as franchises made bold moves to secure top talent. Among the notable picks were Aaryavir Sehwag—son of former India cricketer Virender Sehwag—and Aryaveer Kohli, believed to be the nephew of Indian cricket star Virat Kohli.
The DPL, which drew over 35 million views on Jio and 240 million views across social media last season, continues to grow in popularity and influence. According to Rohan Jaitley, DDCA President, the league has made significant strides in broadening the player base and increasing visibility for domestic cricketers.
Simarjeet Singh – ₹39 lakh to Central Delhi Kings
Digvesh Rathi – ₹38 lakh to South Delhi Superstarz
Nitish Rana – ₹34 lakh to West Delhi Lions
Prince Yadav – ₹33 lakh to New Delhi Tigers
Central Delhi Kings: Retained Jonty Sidhu; added Simarjeet Singh, Yash Dhull, Pranshu Vijayran, and Aaryavir Sehwag.
South Delhi Superstarz: Retained Ayush Badoni; signed IPL 2025 breakout pacer Digvesh Rathi and Aryaveer Kohli.
New Delhi Tigers: Retained Himmat Singh; added Prince Yadav, Hiten Dalal.
East Delhi Riders: Added Navdeep Saini, retained Anuj Rawat and Mayank Rawat (INR 26 lakh via RTM).
West Delhi Lions: Acquired Nitish Rana, Ishant Sharma, Hritik Shokeen, Mayank Gusain.
North Delhi Strikers: Retained Harshit Rana; added Kuldip Yadav, Sarthak Ranjan, Vaibhav Kandpal.
Outer Delhi Warriors (new team): Signed Priyansh Arya, Harsh Tyagi, and IPL star Suyash Sharma.
Puraani Dilli 6: Retained Rishabh Pant; added Vansh Bedi, Dev Lakra, Aayush Singh, and Samarth Seth.
