The highly anticipated second season of Special Ops, created by Neeraj Pandey, is all set to return with fresh episodes—this time focusing on cyber-terrorism and the misuse of artificial intelligence. Initially scheduled to release on July 11, the new season will now premiere on July 18, 2025, exclusively on JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar.
Special Ops, which first debuted in 2020, gained critical acclaim and massive fan following for its gripping espionage storyline, compelling performances, and cinematic direction. The franchise continued with Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story, a prequel that further explored the background of its lead character, Himmat Singh.
In Season 2, the story takes a new turn, focusing on cyber threats and digital warfare, showcasing how modern espionage now transcends borders and enters the virtual battlefield. Kay Kay Menon returns as the brilliant and intense RAW officer Himmat Singh, leading the charge against rising digital threats that challenge national security.
The upcoming season brings together a power-packed ensemble cast including:
Prakash Raj
Vinay Pathak
Tahir Raj Bhasin
Karan Tacker
These actors will join Kay Kay Menon in a high-stakes mission that promises action, strategy, and emotional depth.
Addressing fans eagerly awaiting the show’s release, Kay Kay Menon said in a recent statement:
“To all Special Ops fans, the second season will now stream on July 18 instead of July 11. It’s just one more week. I know it’s a bit more waiting, but some things are beyond our control. Don’t worry, all episodes will be available on July 18.”
Menon also expressed his continued admiration for Neeraj Pandey’s writing, calling it “exceptional” and reaffirming their long-standing collaboration since the film Baby.
Neeraj Pandey and Shivam Nair, who co-directed the previous seasons, return once again to direct Season 2. Both filmmakers bring strong storytelling backgrounds, with Shivam Nair previously directing films like Naam Shabana and The Diplomat, and Neeraj Pandey known for A Wednesday!, Baby, and OTT hits like Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and The Freelancer.
In 2024, Neeraj Pandey had two major film releases—
Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, a direct-to-OTT release on Netflix starring Jimmy Sheirgill, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Avinash Tiwary.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, a theatrical comeback featuring Ajay Devgn and Tabu.
Fans can start streaming all episodes of Special Ops Season 2 from July 18, 2025, on JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. The show is expected to maintain its cinematic scale, high-stakes drama, and smart writing that made the franchise a standout in Indian OTT content.
Stay tuned for more updates as the countdown begins for another thrilling season of espionage, cyber battles, and high-voltage drama.
