Throughout the tour, PM Modi prioritized boosting bilateral relations and economic cooperation, while also emphasizing India’s commitment to the Global South. His engagements included high-level meetings, cultural outreach, and participation in international summits aimed at deepening strategic ties.

In Argentina and Brazil, the Prime Minister held discussions centred on expanding trade, enhancing investment opportunities, and collaborating in key sectors such as agriculture, technology, and defence. These dialogues are expected to pave the way for stronger economic frameworks between India and South American nations.

During the 17th BRICS Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, PM Modi participated in crucial conversations on global economic governance, reforms in multilateral institutions, and sustainable development. His interventions underscored India’s commitment to a more equitable and inclusive international order.

In Ghana and Namibia, the focus shifted to development cooperation and capacity-building. PM Modi reaffirmed India’s solidarity with fellow Global South nations, pledging support in areas like education, skill development, and infrastructure building. His outreach was marked by a spirit of friendship and mutual growth.

The visit to Trinidad and Tobago emphasized India’s deep-rooted cultural and people-to-people ties with the Caribbean region. The Prime Minister highlighted the shared heritage and the role of the Indian diaspora in strengthening bilateral relationships.

During the tour, three nations—Brazil, Namibia, and Trinidad and Tobago—honoured PM Modi with their highest civilian awards. These include the ‘Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross’ from Brazil, the ‘Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis’ from Namibia, and ‘The Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago’.

With these recent recognitions, PM Modi has now received a total of 27 international civilian honours since assuming office in May 2014. These accolades reflect the global appreciation of his diplomatic leadership and India’s growing stature on the world stage.

In a significant diplomatic gesture, PM Modi addressed the parliaments of Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Namibia during his state visits. This reinforces India’s active engagement in parliamentary diplomacy and dialogue-driven foreign policy.
