On Wednesday, July 9, the Indian stock market resumed its downward trend after a brief bounce in the previous session. Investor sentiment was dampened by concerns around U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade policies and disappointing inflation data from China.
The Nifty 50 slipped by 0.18%, closing at 25,476, while the S&P BSE Sensex declined by 0.16% to end the day at 83,538.
In the broader market, performance was mixed. The Nifty Midcap index edged down by 0.12%, whereas the Nifty Smallcap 100 index managed a gain of 0.6%.
Among the biggest losers were Union Bank of India, Hindustan Copper, Vedanta, Crisil, Siemens, and GAIL, which faced selling pressure throughout the session.
