Hyderabad Mobility Push: CM Revanth Reddy Orders MMTS Expansion, Better Last-Mile Connectivity
On the financial side, the chief minister called for measures to enhance self-generated revenue from MMTS operations.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday directed officials to strengthen the Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) network in Hyderabad’s Core Urban Region to meet rising commuter demand and improve service efficiency.
Reviewing MMTS operations at the Legislative Council hall, the chief minister expressed concern over the recent decline in passenger usage and sought a comprehensive plan to revive ridership.
He instructed officials to increase train frequency during peak office hours and ensure strict adherence to schedules. Emphasising reliability, he said commuters will choose MMTS only if services are punctual and dependable.
The issue of poor last-mile connectivity was a key focus during the meeting. Officials informed the chief minister that many MMTS stations are located away from main roads and lack direct bus links. In response, Revanth Reddy asked departments to examine the feasibility of running mini-buses to connect these stations and provide seamless access for passengers.
He also stressed the need to improve passenger amenities across all MMTS stations. Clean facilities, better infrastructure and commuter-friendly services are essential to attract more users, he said.
On the financial side, the chief minister called for measures to enhance self-generated revenue from MMTS operations. He directed officials to conduct a detailed study on increasing ridership, improving amenities and strengthening last-mile connectivity, and submit a report.
