Pune: Baramati MP and senior NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) leader Supriya Sule, along with city NCP(SP) chief Prashant Jagtap, has demanded an FIR and thorough investigation into a fake Government Resolution (GR) allegedly issued in the name of the state rural development department (RDD). The bogus GR, dated October 3, 2024, approved civil works worth ₹6.94 crore across Ahilyanagar district, raising serious concerns of financial fraud just ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections.
On Wednesday, Sule and Jagtap submitted a formal complaint at Swargate police station, urging authorities to take immediate legal action. Despite the state government’s ongoing internal probe, no FIR has been registered yet.
“This is a serious case of cheating and misappropriating public funds. Fake GRs were used to float tenders and siphon money. We demand strict action against all those involved,” said Sule.
Preliminary findings from the RDD revealed that the fake resolution sanctioned small-scale road works in Parner, Shrigonda, Nagar, and Newasa talukas, each valued under ₹10 lakh—thereby evading stringent scrutiny mechanisms.
Officials confirmed that some of the projects have already been executed, while others are mid-progress. With the GR declared invalid, all associated works are now being probed for financial irregularities.
In April 2025, the RDD issued a circular alerting all Zilla Parishads (ZPs) and PWD superintending engineers to verify the authenticity of GRs. The circular advised that only emails from the official government ID soyoj6.rdd-mh@nic.in should be trusted for budget approvals under head 2515 1238. It also urged departments to report any suspicious GRs and initiate criminal proceedings if needed.
The internal inquiry continues to identify those responsible for fabricating and acting on the forged GR, while the demand for a police investigation gains momentum.
