Mohali: Punjab Police have arrested Gurpreet Singh, also known as Guri or Fauji, a former Army personnel, for allegedly leaking classified military information to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The arrest was confirmed by AIG Ravjot Kaur Grewal on Wednesday.
Gurpreet, a resident of Ferozepur district, has been lodged in jail since April after being caught with 1 kg of heroin in a narcotics case. According to police reports, during his time in judicial custody, he came into contact with individuals believed to be working on behalf of ISI operatives.
Leveraging his Army background and connections with former colleagues, Gurpreet is accused of passing on classified documents and sensitive information regarding troop deployments and operational strategies of the Indian Army. The case is currently under further investigation to trace the full extent of the breach and possible collaborators.
