AI, sensors and drones among solutions explored for Delhi-NCR air pollution
Startups presented tools for pollution mapping, emissions monitoring, dust control and crop-residue management, with discussions focused on affordability, field deployment and measurable results.
Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav called for linking industrial emissions data with plant operations to help identify manipulation.

NEW DELHI: Technology solutions ranging from AI-based pollution detection to drone mapping and tamper-proof emissions monitoring were discussed at a government interaction with start-ups working on Delhi-NCR’s air pollution challenge.
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in a statement on Saturday said that the meeting examined nine areas of pollution management, focusing on technologies that could be adapted and deployed at scale.
Proposals covered industrial emissions, vehicle pollution checks, construction dust, road maintenance and waste management. Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav called for linking industrial emissions data with plant operations to help identify manipulation.
Innovators also showcased hyperlocal air-quality monitoring, pollution forecasting, detection of biomass burning and traffic-congestion prediction. Crop-residue applications included bioenergy, packaging and biochar.
The ministry emphasised integrated, economically viable interventions suited to field requirements. The release did not announce procurement decisions, deployment timelines or funding commitments.
